We believe all people seeking recovery-based housing should have access to both a safe and accommodating residence where they can live a healthy and rewarding life. We manage the ethical and safety standards for recovery residences in the State of Maine and certify residences based on the standards established by NARR. The NUWAY Alliance is a nonprofit organization created in October 2019 to provide leadership, innovation, and recovery access in response to national and local trends in behavioral healthcare.

The National Alliance for Recovery Residences creates national quality standards for recovery houses. DMHA is basing most of the certification requirements and on-site inspection requirements on the most current NARR quality standards. Part of the NARR quality standards for every setting is having a Code of Ethics, which should incorporate the NARR Code of Ethics. The bill requires a recovery residence to implement a client discharge and transfer policy to discharge or transfer a client from a recovery residence in certain circumstances. The policy must be approved by the recovery residence’s certifying body before a discharge or transfer may occur.

You’ll also be expected to contribute to the house, just like you would in your own home. If you do not respond to the DMHA Housing Team within required timelines, your application will be reviewed based on the information they have available. Recovery homes on the registry and those working towards inclusion on the registry can apply for a loan up to $4,000 in order to help with operating costs. Recovery homes working towards inclusion on the registry must do so via accreditation by the Washington Alliance of Quality recovery residences.

Hogan Hall is now the home of Saint Joseph’s Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) and on-campus recovery residence, a first of its kind in the Philadelphia region. This learning/living community is the newest offering within the University’s comprehensive collegiate recovery program and will be staffed and supported by University personnel with deep expertise in collegiate recovery. This creates an environment of understanding and camaraderie—everyone striving toward a better future. Recovery residences are sober living environments, meaning that residents are expected to abstain from alcohol and illegal drug use and the misuse of prescribed medications and over the counter medications or other mind-altering substances of any sort. Trini’s Residence provides housing for women, at least 18 years of age, in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction with access to community supports, connection to recovery services, and onsite peer support and yoga sessions.

It provides overarching leadership and management to NUWAY®, the NUWAY Recovery Foundation, Cochran Recovery Services, and The Gables. Additionally, the NUWAY Alliance is available to partner with aligned organizations needing leadership and management to support recovery access. Miracles Happen is a long term residential program (12 months minimum) designed for men who desire to live a life free of drugs & substances. Members of our collegiate recovery program participate in a number of social and fun events to help build connection in our community.

• The bill allows a certified recovery residence or client that is adversely affected or aggrieved by a decision made by the certifying body to appeal the decision to the Colorado department of personnel and administration, office of administrative courts.

Recovery residences are safe, healthy, family-like, substance-free living environments that support individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). The CRRA credential is for people who operate and administer recovery residences, which are sober, safe and wellness-oriented living environments that promote sustained recovery from substance use conditions. CRRAs are responsible for the oversight of staff, volunteers and residents according to the standards established by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR). As part of a national recovery movement across US college campuses, the University of San Francisco offers The Haven, a unique residential community for USF students in recovery from substance use issues or for those who simply desire to live a sober, healthy recovery lifestyle.

Housing & Residence Life is partnering with Student Health and Wellness to offer a housing option for students (both undergraduate and graduate) who are in recovery from a substance use disorder. Residents will engage in a supportive University living and learning community while building lifelong recovery skills. We believe it’s crucial for those experiencing alcohol and substance use disorder to feel safe and supported throughout their entire recovery journey. Trini’s Recovery Residences provide access to safe spaces and community resources while integrating Ashtanga yoga and mindfulness into the recovery process. To give providers and program participants access to high-quality recovery residences in San Diego County region. The degree of monitoring and regulation in recovery residences varies widely from setting to setting.

Certified Residences

The primary mission of MARR is to promote this ethical and sustainable management of high-quality recovery residences throughout the State of Maine. Recovery residences are privately-owned homes or complexes that provide housing for adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring disorder. They serve individuals that are currently receiving outpatient SUD services or are enrolled in recovery services.
